Screw propellers.-In order to vary the pitch of an aircraft propeller in accordance with the altitude of the aircraft, the blades 3 of the propeller are turned about their axes by links 5 connected to the end plate of a cylindrical chamber 8 with corrugated sides which is initially filed with air at sea level pressure.
