Abstract
An electric vehicle 1 houses a wind-driven fan arrangement 3 in its nose. As the vehicle moves forwards, the shaft 4 on which the fan blades are mounted drives a generator for providing charging current for an onboard battery pack 6. The shaft is rotatable about an axis transverse to the vehicle and the shaft may run across the width of the vehicle. Further turbines may be located at the rear 19 or sides (14, 15, fig. 1) of the vehicle.
