Centrifugal governors.- In shaft couplings for automatically adjusting the timing of intemal-combustion engine magnetos with change of speed, a ring 6, pivoted to a member 2 on the magneto shaft 3 by diametrically-opposed pins 7, is biassed by springs 8 to an inclined position and carries on a pin 9 a roller (not shown), which engages an inclined slot 11 in a sleeve 5 secured to a member on the engine timing-shaft (not shown), the sleeve 5 being also slotted to clear the pivots 7. When the speed rises above a predetermined value, the ring 6 turns' under centrifugal force about its pivots 7, and so effects relative angular adjustment of the shafts.
