Abstract
245,809. Wade, H., (Murray, F. T.). Aug. 13, 1924. Roof gutters are so positioned on the roof surface that they are set above the lower edges of the roof with one edge lying in contact with or formed as part of the roof surface. Each gutter 11 is arranged to slope downwardly towards its outlet across the surface of the roof 10. When the gutter is a separate part. it is secured to the roof by nails &c. 12. When the gutter is formed integrally with the roof, it is provided by bending up the lower edges of the roof and false eaves are then provided to extend beyond the gutter. In corrugated roofs. the gutter wall is provided with corresponding corrugations, which may be formed before applying the gutter to the roof or during application to position, the gutter being formed of malleable metal in the latter case. The down-flow pipe projects through an orifice in the gutter and is flanged over and riveted in place.
