Abstract

A headscarf for a person for example who has lost their hair during medical treatment that has means to secure the headscarf to their bald head. Preferably the headscarf has additional material in the form of a peak, attached to the front of the headscarf that rests on the forehead of the wearer during use and is held in place by an elasticated section at the base of the headscarf, at the nape of the wearer's neck. Ties may be positioned either side of the elasticated section, and tied into a bow to ensure the headscarf has a fight fit. The headscarf may be made using the individual's own head measurements.

Background:
This invention relates to the mechanism of keeping a headscarf on a bald head.
When women have undergone medical treatment and lost their hair it is difficult to keep a hecidscarf in place.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings. Pages 3 -5 Figure 1: Shows on ill fitting headscarf.
Figure 2: Shows a secure filled headscarf according to the invention.
Figure 3: Shows how approximately 12 cms of 2 mm elastic thread is threaded through a 1.5 cm seam around the edge of the scarf lining. Once gathered it is stitched firmly in place.
Figure 4: Shows how the peak is attached between the lining and the scarf on the curved edge from point A to B. Figure 5: Shows how the peak sits on the forehead to help hold the scarf to the head and how the elastic gathering holds the scarf to the back of the head.
Figure 6: Shows where the tie is sewn on the inside at the gathered point of the scarf and lining.

Claims (1)

  1. Claim: When a woman has undergone medical treatment and as a result lost her hair it is difficult to keep a headscarf in place.
    This invention provides a headscarf with a peak using the individuars own head measurements which will be held in place with elastic at the base of the nape of the neck and with a tie on each side of the elastic which will form a bow and ensure a secure fit.
