Damping - appliances, hand. - A moistening- device for labels, stamps &c. comprises a pliable shell of rubber or rubber composition A. with a filling of rubber sponge B, and having a recessed base C, functioning as a suction plate. The device may be made by inserting a sheet of unvulcanized rubber into a mould, partially filling the shell so formed with rubber-sponge mixing and vulcanizing the whole in a steam press or pan.
