Abstract

A shopping trolley 1 which has wheels 2 and retractable 3 handle can incorporate insert (s) or insert compartments to carry shopping goods. The insert or inserts can be lifted out of the trolley to check goods at counter, inserts placed back into the trolley to be transported to the car, place inserts into car boot and then place them back into trolley to transport them to the kitchen. The trolley itself may be placed into the car boot.

Description

BACKGROUND:
11 DE10053997 discloses a trolley basket which can be moved into and 12 out of the boot of a motor vehicle without having to be emptied. The 13 basket is carried on a chassis for movement around a supermarket etc. 14 The chassis is supplied by the supermarket.
16 DE10064156 discloses a basket which is made up of several individual 17 baskets separated by at least one intermediate wall. The basket can be 18 detached from the chassis of the trolley which is supplied by the 19 supermarket.
DE10243523 discloses Stackable shopping trolley used for shopping 21 comprises a chassis and a basket that are not permanently connected 22 to each other. Stackable shopping trolley comprises a chassis equipped 23 with at least four wheels and a basket. The chassis and the basket are 24 not permanently connected to each other. The basket and the chassis have corresponding locking profiles. The frame functions as a bearing 26 surface for the basket. The chassis consists of two continuous frame 27 profiles. The basket is made of hard plastic to reduce the weight.
28 GB2306639 discloses a mobile load carrier comprises a set of wheels 29 and receptacle for a load, within which receptacle there is a container defining a thermally insulated compartment.
32 EP1733947 discloses the shopping trolley which has a goods basket 33 mounted on a movable frame and both designed to be collapsible, 34 whilst NL8104395 discloses a collapsible trolley frame only.
36 W02005105542 discloses a cover for trolley to protect the goods when 37 it is raining 39 This invention addresses the problem of attaching basket or basket made of several parts which can be moved easily into the car boot to 41 the supermarket trolley chassis, as this limits customer to only limited 42 supermarkets who will only have this particular type of trolley chassis to 43 which the basket can be attached or can be placed upon. In addition, 44 this invention addresses means of transporting the basket out of boot into the household in convenient manner. Most importantly, it negates 46 the need to use supermarket carrier bags to carry the goods from 47 supermarket check out to the car out and from car boot into the house.
48 The disposal of supermarket plastic carrier bags has become 49 environmental hazard. Also, the baskets have cover for protection when it is raining.
Summary of Invention

61 (f) basket or inserts with goods can be placed back into the trolley, 62 for transporting goods to the car, transporting goods from the car to 63 kitchen and in the supermarket whilst purchasing the goods 64 (g) trolley of convenient size with retractable handle which allows it to be placed in car boot 66 (f) trolley made of durable light plastic and is cheap (affordable) 68 enabling no use of plastic bags, easy to transport of goods in the 69 supermarket, out of the supermarket to the car, from parked car into the kitchen and provide cover from rain 71 enabling to easily lift the trolley into the car boot, easily lift inserts to and 72 from the car boot and supermarket check-in counter.
74 The trolley basic unit is made of affordable light weight material and re-usable, e.g. plastic -polypropylene, metal (aluminium), paper, 76 cardboard and composites etc. 78 The trolley basket and inserts are tapering towards bottom for easy 79 stacking 81 The trolley has 2 or more than 2 wheels, preferably 2 wheels 83 The trolley has retractable handle, like travelling baggage The trolley has inserts, one or more than one. The inserts can stack 86 onto each other or be placed adjacent to each other.
88 The trolley basket and inserts can be made fully of the plastic or metal 89 material or can have air voids or mashed wire type structure 91 The goods are placed into the inserts 93 The trolley handle can have attached clips so that goods filled inserts 94 can be stacked onto top of each other 96 The trolley size can vary, suiting individual need for capacity 98 The inserts have handle (s), or raised edge, or grooves to lift them out 99 of the trolley basket 101 The trolley has a lid to provide cover from the rain 103 The trolley can be pulled by attached rope, instead of retractable 104 handle 106 The trolley and inserts can be container of any shape, square, 107 rectangular, circular, oblong etc. 109 The trolley container edges can be square or rounded hO

Open ended 123 box or basket has two or more wheels (2) attached to them to move the 124 box or basket around. The basket or open box has a retractable handle (3) attached to it comprise a trolley.
127 Typically, the size of the trolley can be 18 inches wide and 12-15 inches 128 long and 12-18 inches in height, which can accommodate 0.5 to 10 kg 129 of weight. This weight can be divided by using number of inserts. This enables any person such as children and women to carry shopping 131 goods to and from shopping counter, car boot and household kitchen.
132 The weight of trolley is kept to minimum by utilizing light weight durable 1' 133 plastics such as polypropylene. Typically the weight of trolley can be 134 0.1 to 2 kg preferably 0.5 kg.
136 The weight and size of trolley can be increased or reduced as required 137 by the customer on need basis.
139 The retractable handle like travelling baggage can be extended (4) as shown in figure 3. The goods are put into inserts (5) or insert 141 compartments (6) as shown in figures 4 & 5. The inserts are made of 142 light weighted material such as plastic, metal or wood, which can be 143 fully or partially made of materials and can look like wired mesh.
The inserts are placed into trolley as shown in figure 6.
147 The trolley handle in extended state as clips onto which another insert 148 can be placed allowing more than one insert to be carried by the trolley 149 as shown in figure 7.
151 The trolley has a cover placed on top to protect shopping goods from 152 rain water as shown in figure 8.
