Abstract

The cover has an elastic opening on one side which is placed around the wheel to protect the house or car boot from dirt gathered by pushing the pushchair/pram wheels around in the streets. The cover is preferably made of polythene / waterproof plastic material but it can be of any other material. The open side is made by sowing the round edge of the polythene / waterproof plastic together to form a circle/ring. An elastic band A is incorporated and sown into the circle so that the circle is expandable and can be easily put around the wheel of the pushchair/pram.

PUSHCHAIRIPRAM WHEEL HOOD
DESCRIPTION
This invention relates to a detachable cover for pushchair/pram wheels.
Pushchair/Pram wheels get dirty very quickly and with rain they get wet and muddy as well.
Coming home from outside or putting a pushchair/pram into a car boot after walking around in the streets, one will bring this dirt, wetness and mud into the house or to the car boot. To overcome this, the present invention proposes a cover in the design of a hood with an elastic opening, which is placed around the wheel.
The wheel cover is easily detachable, waterproof and washable and can be made in various sizes to fit all pushchair/pram wheel sizes. It is easily fitted to the wheel and will collect the dirt, which can then be emptied into a bin. The pushchair/pram can still be pushed around the house, as the hood is fitted as a light layer around the wheel. The hood is preferably made of polythene / waterproof plastic material as this is easy to clean but it can be made of any other material. The hood has one open side where it will be put over the rim of the wheel. The open side is made by sowing the round edge of the polythene I waterproof plastic together to form a circle/ring. An elastic band is incorporated and sown into the circle so that the circle is expandable and can be easily put around the wheel of the pushchair/pram.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 -shows an example of a pushchair/pram wheel.
Figure 2-shows the wheel cover in the design of a hood according to the invention.
Figure 3 -shows the wheel cover in the design of a hood fitted around a pushchairlpram wheel.
Figure 1 shows an example of a pushchair/pram wheel for which the invention is used.

Doreen & Chima Okafor, 24 Yardley Lane, Chingford, London E4 7RS -PUSHCHAIRJPRAM WHEEL HOOD Page 2 Figure 2 shows the pushchair/pram wheel cover in the design of a hood made of polythene / waterproof plastic material Figure 2 also shows the open side of the hood, which is facing to the inside of the pushchair/pram when placed around the wheel, the opening surrounding the wheel axle. Reference number A shows the elastic nng which is made by sowing the polythene I waterproof plastic material together around the edge and incorporating an elastic band into the sowing to form an expandable circle. The open side of the hood facing to the inside of the pushchair/pram and the closed-up back of the hood is therefore facing to the outside of the pushchair/pram.
Figure 3 shows the wheel cover placed around the pushchair/pram wheel. When the hood (Figure 2) is placed in position around the wheel (Figure 1), the elastic ring A' is in an unexpanded condition and thus securing a tight fit so that no dirt may escape but coHect inside the hood instead.
The hood can be made in various sizes and is easily placed around any pushchair/pram wheel, therefore ensuring the user a clean house and car boot.
