Abstract
A jack to stabilize the bearing weight on a ring beam comprises a lower part A made up of a plate and a length of continuous threaded screw at a perpendicular angle and a main member B made up of a tube at one end of which is a threaded insert and at the other end is welded a plate. The screw allows the length of the jack to be adjusted, preferably by means of a rod inserted in a hole in the tube.

ADJUSTABLE STRUCTURAL BAY POLE
(2 PART) This invention is concerned with the support of load bearing ring beams The principle is to stabilize the bearing weight on the ring beam.
The structural pole is comprised of two parts (A,B) One member (A) is a plate upon which is welded a length of continuous threaded screw, at a perpendicular angle.
The main member (B) is a tube. At one end is a treaded insert, at the other end is welded a plate.
Claims (9)
- Claims- 1. A jack for supporting ring beams comprised of two parts, onepart being a bearing plate affixed to a structural pole on the other end of which is provided an internal screw fitting, the second part being a threaded rod and angled profile, with the threaded rod set perpendicular to the angled-profile and which rod fits the screwed end of the structural pole where by turning/adjusting the pole relative to the screwed rod, length adjustment is made.
- 2. An adjustable screwed jack that supports a structure as a ring beam (fig 4)
- 3. A screw type jack that is made of two parts, where parts A and B can be secured for minimum slippage
- 4. A screw type jack that is raised and lowered by inserting a rod or the like into the adjusting pole (fig 3 +4)
- 5. The pole having a fixed threaded insert means a pre-determined load can be tested.
- 6. The jack is envisaged to be used in the building industry
- 7. A jack as claimed in claim 1 in which the pole is made of steel
- 8. A jack as claimed in claim 7 and in which the pole is galvanized.
- 9. A jack substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
