Abstract

Condenser systems.- In evaporating liquids such as solutions of epsom salts, glauber salts, potassium salts &c., in vacuo, the vacuum is obtained by a water-jet ejector f which serves also to discharge the water of condensation from the condenser e and which is operated by the cooling water or brine used in the condenser. The hot solution to be evaporated enters an evaporator a through an outlet c. The cooling-water passes upwards through the condenser e and than through the ejector f or may be passed through the ejector and then through the condenser.
