Loading-appliances.-Ammunition is supplied to each of two or more turret guns by separate routes which include hoists external to the turrettrunk for delivering the ammunition to conveyers encircling the trunk at different levels, and feeding hatches in the trunk leading to each gun. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the lower hoists A<4>, B deliver projectiles A<3>, B<3> to trollies A<2>, B<2> running on tracks A', B<1> which surround the trunk A The trollies deliver the projectiles in front o hatches A<5>, B<5> from which the separate stream of projectiles are taken by the upper hoist cage to the guns. Rotary platforms may replace the trollies. The projectiles may be carried horizontally by trays on the trollies, which trays tilt to feed the loading cages. The tracks may extend from the hosts to the hatches by circuitous paths as shown in Fig. 8.
