243,779. Craig, W. G. Aug. 6, 1924. Brushes, hand-supported, driving by hand or power.- An appliance for cleaning the teeth, and which enables the backs of the teeth to be reached, comprises a rotary brush 1 held in a jaw-chuck 4 on a flexible shaft 7 driven by a portable manually - driven or spring - actuated motor having a clamp 13, 15 for securing it to the edge of a table or the like. The motor may consist of a coil spring and gearing, the spring being wound up by a cord on the spring drum; or as shown, the shaft may be driven by gearing 10, 11 from a crank-handle 12.
