Abstract

This invention relates to a device for rocking a pram. Babies don't always respond to a particular rocking action. To allow for this the device will accept cams with differing profiles. The device is operated by a low voltage rechargeable electric motor which is mounted on a swivel on the base of the device. A cam is fitted into the motor and rotated into slots in the cam housing 4. The cam housing 4 holds an adjustable slide 7 on which a ramp 6 is fitted. The wheel 5 is placed on the cam and ramp 6 and adjusted to suit the size of the wheel.5 A very small gap is left between the wheel and the ramp slide 7. This gap is essential to allow the device to operate. In operation the motor rotates the cam which drives the buggy wheel up the cam a distance of five to eight millimetres and allows it to run back this gives it the rocking motion.

<p>Cam no.3 gives a gentle rocking motion.</p>

<p>Cam no. 3a gives a slightly more robust action.</p>

<p>Cam no, 3b gives a bouncing action which some mothers obtain by running the buggy over the edge of a rug or even a walking stick.</p>

<p>The device is operated by a low voltage rechargeable electric motor 1.</p>

<p>which is mounted on a swivel on the base 2 of the device.</p>

<p>A cam is fitted into the motor 1 and rotated into slots in the cam housing 4.</p>

<p>The cam housing 4 holds an adjustable slide 7 on which a ramp 6 is fitted.</p>

<p>The wheel 5 is placed on the cam 3 and ramp 6 and adjusted to suit the size of the wheel.5 A very small gap is left between the wheel and the ramp slide 7.</p>

<p>In operation the motor rotates the cam which drives the buggy wheel up the cam a distance of five to eight millimetres and allows it to run back this gives it the rocking motion.</p>

<p>In figure l.a pram!buggy rocker includes a swivelling motor 1 mounted on a baseplate 2 rotates a cam 3 located in a cam housing 4. The eccentric action of the cam 3 moves the pram! buggy wheel 5 up the ramp 6 and allows it to return. This movement gives a rocking action.</p>

   <p>1. A pram or buggy unit comprising means for rocking a pram or buggy.</p>

   <p>2. A pram or buggy rocker according to claim 1. in which the rocking motion is obtained by a rotating cam.</p>

   <p>3. A pram or buggy rocker according to claim 1.in which the cam is rotated by a low voltage electric motor.</p>

   <p>4. A pram or buggy rocker according to claim 1. in which cams of different profile can be fitted to obtain different rocking motions.</p>

   <p>5. A pram or buggy rocker according to claim 1. in a which a ramp on an adjustable slide is fitted to allow for different wheel sizes.</p>

   <p>6. A pram or buggy rocker according to claim 1. in which the motor can be swivelled to allow the chosen cam to be inserted.</p>
