Endless materials, treating with liquids; piled materials, treating with fluids. - A dyeing machine comprises a rotating reel over which a number of lengths of fabric are passed, and a pair of guiding devices, the lengths which pass around one guiding device being arranged in staggered relation to the lengths passing around the other device. As shown, a tube 4 is provided with a reel 14 and with two guiding devices, each comprising brackets 15 secured on opposite sides of the tub and rotatably supporting a bar 16 which is provided with arms 17 supporting a roller 21. The arms 17 are formed with lugs adapted to rest normally on lugs on the brackets 15. Endless lengths of fabric pass around each roller 21 and between spacing-pins 23 detachably fixed in holes in the bar 16. The spacing-pins on one guiding device are arranged in staggered relation to those on the other device!. As the reel 14, which is shown of oval form, is rotated portions of the lengths of fabric are piled in layers in the tub 4 which is provided at one end with a supporting plate 24 raised from the bottom of the tub to permit withdrawal of the lower layers of fabric. At the other end of the tub a perforated partition 5 is provided to form with the end of the tub, a compartment 6 in which water and the dyeing solution may be mixed before flowing through the openings in the partition.
