Abstract

242,470. Solliday, F. K. Dec. 16, 1924. Catches yielding to pull and pressure.-A device for securing the dust bag of a vacuum cleaner to the discharge nozzle comprises a volute spring held in a recess in the member carrying the bag and protruding through slits in a collar to permit portions of the spring to snap over the lip of the nozzle. The metal ring 3, which has the bag attached to it, has a recess 6 in which the spring 7 is held by the parts 10 of the collar 8. Parts of the spring protrude through slots 9 in the collar forming cords to the circle of the ring 3 and snapping over the lip 2 of the nozzle 1 when the two parts are pressed together. Reference has been directed by the, Comptroller to Specification 187,622.
