Abstract

241,043. Greville, E. R. G., and Read, F. W. Nov. 26, 1924. Cases.-A battery for electrotherapeutic purposes is provided with a switch having two sliding contacts a, b for controlling the number of cells in the circuit and for enabling the direction of the current to be reversed. The sliding contacts a, b bear upon a number of cell contacts c which are sufficiently close together to prevent interruption of the current when the contacts a, b are moved. The switching arrangement is located on a panel forming the top of a box t which contains the battery cells and an induction coil, the core n of which protrudes for adjustment purposes. The contact-breaker m of the coil and a switch r for varying the windings of the coil in use are situated on the top panel which also carries a milliammeter f having a sloping dial. The apparatus is arranged so that either a faradic or galvanofaradic current can be administered. The whole is enclosed in a removable cover when not in use.
