Abstract
240,899. Lea, N., and Radio Communication Co., Ltd. June 26, 1924. Composite units.-An inter-valve coupling-device for use in wireless receiving apparatus comprises two resistances and a condenser built into a single unit. The resistance for connection to the plate circuit of a valve is wound on a tubular bobbin 1, the second or grid-leak resistance 2 is housed inside the bobbin, and the coupling condenser 17 is supported in the base 14. To reduce the inductance and self-capacity of the plate resistance, the wire is wound in sectional grooves, alternate grooves being wound in opposite directions. One end is soldered to a tag 16 clamped against a terminal screw 19 by a nut 18. The other end is soldered to a pin 7 projecting through an insulating-plate 15 to a metal plate 5 on which a terminal 12 is mounted. The grid resistance 2 is removably supported between a coiled spring 9 and a clip 10 pivoted on the screw 11 that holds the terminal 4. The spring 9 rests on a washer under the head of a screw 8, which holds the bobbin on the plate 15 and metal plate 6, the latter forming an electrical connection to the terminal 13. The terminal screws 12, 13 clamp the base 14 in position, and the condenser 17 is connected across these terminals. The axis of the terminals 3, 4 should preferably be at right-angles to the vertical plane containing the terminals 12. 13. A waterproof cover 20 encloses the bobbin 1.
