Driving and feed devices.-In a sandpapering machine, axial movement is imparted to the drum or drums by means of a worm e mounted on the drum spindle and engaging a worm wheel f on a spindle carrying an eccentric pin h moving in a slot in a lever k pivoted to a fixed part of the machine. When the axial movement is not required the lever k may be held away from the eccentric pin by means of a spring p coacting with notches p<1>, p<2> in the lever.
