Abstract

A Portable Measured Fluid Dispense Unit includes a separate, detachable, measured fluid reservoir 1 which is attached to the tap section 2 via a one-way valve of besoke design 4/5 with a simple release mechanism. When attached the fluid can flow from the fluid reservoir 1 through the integral tube 6 to the tap 7 within the Tap section 2. The fluid reservoir 1 /tap section 2 assembly is attached to the weighted base unit 3 allowing the Portable Measured Fluid Dispense Unit to be used in a variety of locations. The fluid reservoir 1 can also be detached to facilitate cleaning, refilling and reuse of the reservoir. For dispensing predefined units of beer and similar beverages.

Description

DESCRIPTION: PORTABLE MEASURED FLUID DISPENSE UNIT
The invention relates to a Capacity Serving Measure Vessel of a type that includes a fluid reservoir that can be separated from its dispensing tap. It is free- standing and can be placed anywhere convenient.
Similar dispensers are used in the UK & on the Continent but have not been able to be stamped by Weights & Measures as a Capacity Serving Measure or have not been granted UK National Type Approval as a new measuring device because the dispensing tap & fluid reservoir are a single unit.
An object of this invention is to provide a Portable Measured Fluid Dispense Unit that can be approved as a 'Capacity Serving Measure' for beer and/or similar beverages (and potentially other non-alcoholic products) and approved by Trading Standards/NWML that can then be connected to a separate dispensing base tap via a one way valve thereby being the first table dispense unit that can be approved as a Capacity Serving Measure'.
Accordingly, this invention provides a table dispensing unit comprising of a free-stand- ing base and separate, attachable tap section to which the fluid reservoir and cap can be joined via a one-way valve.
Each component part of the Dispensing Unit is injection moulded from Polymers suited to their individual requirements.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the attached drawings.
FIGURE 1 shows a side view of the whole dispenser FIGURE 2 shows an exploded view of the whole dispenser illustrating the major component units.
As shown in both figures the dispenser consists of a separate, measured fluid reservoir (1), approved by TRADING STANDARDS/NWML which is attached to the tap section (2) via a one-way valve (the ChoobaLock, subject to a separate Patent Application) of bespoke design consisting of male (4) and female (5) sections. When attached the fluid can flow from the fluid reservoir (1) through the integral tube(6) within the Tap sec- tion (2) to the tap (7). The fluid reservoir (1)/tap section (2) assembly is attached to the weighted base unit (3) allowing the dispenser to be used in a variety of locations.
The fluid reservoir(1) attaches/detaches to the Tap/Base Section assembly via a bay- onet locking mechanism facilitating opening/closing of the ChoobaLock one- way valve to allow the drink to be dispensed. The detachable nature of the reservoir allows cleaning via dishwasher, refilling and reuse.
The fluid reservoir(1) is assembled from the following components: a lid (8), which has a hole to equalise pressure and designed to fit over the top of the reservoir with a raised ridge to allow stacking, a polycarbonate body (9) which forms the main part of the reservoir with an overhang to act as a handle for ease of use, and the female sec- tion of the the ChoobaLock one-way valve (5).
