Abstract
A portable fluid dispense unit consists of a separate measured fluid reservoir 1 which is attached to a tap section 2 and weighted base 3 by a one-way valve consisting of male 4 and female 5 sections. The fluid reservoir 1 attaches/ detaches from the tap section via a bayonet locking mechanism facilitating the opening / closing of the valve.
Description
DESCRIPTION: BESPOKE ONE-WAY VALVE UNIT
The invention relates to a bespoke one-way valve manufactured of food grade materials and of a type specifically designed to allow connectivity of a fluid reser- voir and tap/base assembly of a Portable Measured Fluid Dispense Unit such as the CHOOBA PORTABLE MEASURED FLUID DISPENSE UNIT.
An object of this invention is to provide a Portable Measured Fluid Dispense Unit with a one-way valve allowing it to be connected to a separate dispensing base tap so that the Dispense Unit can be approved as a 'Capacity Serving Measure' for beer andfor similar beverages (and potentially other non-alcoholic products) and approved by Trading StandardslNWML.
Accordingly, this invention facilitates a table dispensing unit comprising of a free- standing base and separate, attachable tap section to which the fluid reservoir and cap can be joined whilst meeting Trading Standards/NWML regulations.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the attached drawings.
FIGURE 1 shows a elevations of the one-way valve.
FIGURE 2 shows a side view of the whole dispenser illustrating the valve incorporat- ed into the unit.
FIGURE 3 shows an exploded view of the whole dispenser illustrating the valve incorporated into the unit.
As shown in figures 2 & 3 the dispenser consists of a separate, measured fluid reser- voir (1), approved by TRADING STANDARDS/NWML which is attached to the tap section (2) via ChoobaLock, a one-way valve of bespoke design consisting of male (4) and female (5) sections. When attached the fluid can flow from the fluid reservoir t1) through the integral tube(6) within the Tap section (2) to the tap (7). The fluid reser- voir (1)/tap section (2) assembly is attached to the weighted base unit (3) allowing the dispenser to be used in a variety of locations. The fluid reservoir(1) attaches/detach- es to the Tap/Base Section assembly via a bayonet locking mechanism facilitating opening/closing of the ChoobaLock one-way valve to allow the drink to be dispensed.
The detachable nature of the reservoir allows cleaning via dishwasher, refilling and reuse.
The fluid reservoir(1) is assembled from the following components: a lid (8), which has a hole to equalise pressure and designed to fit over the top of the reservoir with a raised ridge to allow stacking, a polycarbonate body (9) which forms the main part of the reservoir with an overhang to act as a handle for ease of use, and the female sec- tion of the the ChoobaLock one-way valve (5).
Claims (9)
- CLAIMS: BESPOKE ONE-WAY VALVE UNIT 1 A one-way valve allowing a fluidreservoir and a separate dispensing base tap to con- nect so that a Portable Measured Fluid Dispense Unit can be approved as a Capacity Serving Measure' for beer and/or similar beverages (and potentially other non-alcoholic products) and approved by Trading Standards/NWML.
- 2 A one-way valve as described in Claim 1 that only allows the flow of liquid from the detachable fluid reservoir to the separate dispensing base tap unit in compli- ance with Trading Standards/NWML requirements.
- 3 A one-way valve as described in Claim 1 & 2 where the fluid reservoir and base assemblies can be joined or detached to dispense predefined units of beer and sim- ilar beverages as described by the Trading Standards/NWML.
- 4 A one-way valve as claimed in any proceeding claim allowing the fluid reservoir and base assemblies to be detached via a quick release mechanism once the fluid reservoir is empty to facilitate attachment of another reservoir and cleaning and reuse of used reservoirs.
- A one-way valve as claimed in any proceeding claim where constant flow of liquid is ensured by an assymetrical distribution of holes in the construction of the body of both the male and female sections on the valve regardless of orientation of valve components.
- 6 A one-way valve as claimed in any proceeding claim consisting of male and female sections made from food grade materials, tensioned via a spring that when relaxed closes the valve and when compressed opens it. Relaxing/tensioning of the spring is a result of the detaching or attaching of the reservoir to the base assembly in a Portable Measured Fluid Dispense Unit.
- 7 A one-way valve as described in any proceeding claim that only allows a detach- able fluid reservoir to become a sealed unit when separated from its dispensing base tap unit in compliance with Trading Standards/NWML requirements.
- 8 A one-way valve as described in any proceeding claim that can be attached to the components of a Portable Measured Fluid Dispense Unit via a 1/2" BSP thread.
- 9 A Portable Measured Fluid Dispense Unit as herein described above and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
