Abstract

A control pedal attachment to extend the pedal height is moulded in rubber or plastic can be fitted over a vehicle accelerator, clutch or brake pedal (once the original cover has been removed) by stretching or clipping over the pedal and gripping it in the same manner as the original. The control pedal attachment can be angled at approx 20 degrees so that it is not too far above a floor (fig 5) and have a moulded tread. Different heights from 10mm thick, and forms to suit each vehicle model could be made. Thus a spare part can be provided to enable people of small stature to fully depress foot pedals.

Description

(-Q1F?T. PT4'1)Al Al)AC.UlVIFl(T 2389408 Lois invention relates to a
control pedal attachment.
All motor vehicle control pedals have rubber covers fitted,or are themselves made from moulded plastic.
These covers can be purchased as spares for most Snakes of motor cars, however people of small stature, or people with short legs who normally have to move their seat forward and sit very close to the steering wheel, they would benefit if these spare parts were made in varying sizes, thus enabling them to reach and depress hilly the foot pedals of their vehicle, while sitting in a more comfortable position.
According to the present invention pedal extensions are provided which attach directly to the existing pedals in a firm and safe manner.
These replacement pedal covers will be made to the same specifications as the vehicle manufactures
spare, but will be moulded ire varying heights from lOrnm thick to what ever thickness is required.
They will be moulded in either rubber or plastic to suit the model of car and type of pedal,as some vehicles have rubber covers on the brake and clutch pedals and a plastic moulded accelerator pedal.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing which: Figure I shows a pedal lever with a standard cover fitted; Figure 2 shows a pedal lever with one size of the extended replacement cover fitted; Figure 3 shows a 3D view of one size of the extended replacement cover with a pare cut away to show pedal gripping edge Figure 4 shows a drawing of the front elevation of one size of the replacement cover Figure 5 shows a cut through drawing of the front elevation.

the pedal attachment is fitted to the pedal lever in the same manner as the manufacturers spore, bar stretching the cover over the metal pedal on the end of the pedal lever as shown in Figure 2.
The extended cover when moulded will be angled at approx, 20 degrees to bring the pedal straight out and not have the pedal to high from the floor of the vehicle.
This will enable the driver to sit back away from the steering wheel with his or her feet on the floor and in easy reach of the pedals.
the extended cover will have a moulded tread to Dive the ctriver more grip when in use, this tread will be the same on an the extended covers.
