Abstract

A vehicle foot pedal extension, which helps short drivers to depress a foot pedal more fully and allows them more room away from the steering wheel, comprises a non-slip rubber pad attached to a clamp by which the extension is clamped onto an existing pedal. The clamp includes a hinged top section and the clamping action is achieved by a threaded screw. The pedal may be an accelerator pedal or a clutch pedal. <IMAGE>

Description

VEHICLE FOOT PEDAL EXTENSION INVENTION For many years vehicle motorists i.e (short drivers) (men & women have had to stretch that little bit further ,or adjust there seat right up to the steering wheel making driving uncomfortable and in some occasions making driving more dangerous,just to depress the clutch pedal fully.
According to the present invention there is provided a system that may help relieve this problem.
Referring to the drawing the foot pedal extension comprises of a shaped rectangular piece of material in metal-plastic shown in figure one.
The top section is hinged allowing greater flexibility of adjustment for different configuarations of vehicle clutch pedal.
The extension is fixed to the existing vehicle pedal by way of a threaded rod,allowing secure clamping on to existing vehicle pedals.(see figure one).
On the front of the extension pedal is fitted a rubber non slip pad, allowing another inch of added extension.
Finally the foot pedal extension is easily detatchable for change to other vehicles.

Claims (6)

1. The foot pedal extension adds lengths to vehicles clutch, allowing the shorter driver to depress the clutch pedal fully.
2. The foot pedal extension will give a more comfortable drive.
3. The foot pedal extension will create better back posture less strane.
4. The foot pedal extension allows better control of the vehicle.
5. The foot peadl extension lets drivers move a little further back from the steering wheel giving more room.
6. The foot pedal extension in some cases could help special need drivers.
Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1) The Vehicle Foot Pedal Extension is in the form of a rig with a hinged top section with the means for attachment to the existing clutch pedal.
2) The Vehicle Foot Pedal Extension as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the attachment means is provided by a threaded rod.
3) The Vehicle Foot Pedal Extension as claimed in Claims 1 or 2 wherein the extra extension is provided by a non-slip rubber pad.
4) The Vehicle Foot Pedal Extension as claimed in Claims 2 or 3 wherein the attachment for the rubber pad is provided by two bolts that screw into the main extension rig.
5) The Vehicle Foot Pedal Extension as claimed in Claims 3 or 4 wherein the extension means is sealed to the rig with rubber lips protruding from the rubber pad.
6) The Vehicle Foot Pedal Extension as described herein with reference to fig 1 of the accompanying drawing.
