Road vehicles.-A punching-machine, particularly for punching the wheel housings of automobile panels has a gang of radially reciprocating punches which are operated in succession by a common driving means. The machine has provision for supporting right or left hand work pieces A, stops 47 being provided to position the work on seats 45 projecting from vertical frames 43. Radial slides 49 having offset punches 54 are guided in each of the frames 43 and are linked at 56, Fig. II to eccentrics 61 mounted on the shafts 26. The latter are driven through dog-clutches 24 by a shaft 20 which is itself driven through reduction gearing by a motor 12. Each clutch comprises a latch 31 pressed axially by a spring so as to project into the path of the dogs 24. The latch is withdrawn and the machine stopped by a wedge 35 which rises into the path of a bevelled part of the latch when the pedal 42 is released. A constantly applied spring-brake 28 is fitted to each shaft 26. A punch-head 76, Fig. V operating substantially parallel to the shaft 26, is actuated by a link 68 connected to a bar 67 which reciprocates radially with one of the punch-heads 49.
