Guards and screens.-A guard for attachment to the front of a gas or other fire comprises a number of fixed horizontal reflecting strips c, which are inclined in the direction of their width in order to deflect the radiant heat which would otherwise reach the floor immediately in front of the stove. An ordinary wire mesh guard b may be provided over the strips. Specification 21717/97, [Class 52, Furniture &c.], is referred to.
