Abstract
238,179. Ransome Concrete Machinery Co. Aug. 5, 1924, [Convention date]. Shoots.-An appliance for hoisting and distributing concrete &c., comprises a mast, a guided skip, an outlet shoot extending through the mast and a distributing shoot pivoted to the mast and adjustably supported therefrom. The mast 10 has a head-frame 12 carrying sheaves 13 over which pass the hoisting cable 14 connected to the skip 15. The hinged gate 21 of the skip is opened when required by means of lever mechanism 22 operated by a pivoted and spring held trip arm 25. The outlet shoot 28 is pivoted to the mast and provided with curved arms 30 adapted to be engaged by the lower axle of the skip to remove the shoot out of the path of the skip and allow the skip to pass. The outlet shoot discharges into a distributing shoot 33 pivoted to a bracket 34 on the mast, its outer end being connected by a block and tackle connection 37 to a second bracket 36 which is preferably connected by a rod 39 to the lower bracket. A further block and tackle connection 40 connected to the upper bracket enables the brackets and distributing shoots to be adjusted in height.
