Abstract

237,765. Lafreniere, O. W. Oct. 16, 1924. Cooling air, tubular apparatus for.-Apparatus for supplying cooled air to rooms, halls, &c. comprises a double-walled casing 10 containing a cooling medium such as water, ice, or water to be frozen solid by a refrigerating machine. The interior of the casing is fitted with a pipe coil 26 connected at one end by a funnel-shaped fitting 28 with the discharge passage of a blower 24 mounted on the casing. The blower may be driven by an electric motor 25 carried by the spider frame 23 of the fan, or by external means. The other end of the coil is connected with a pipe 30 rising between the walls of the casing and discharging the air cooled in the coil through an opening 31 in the casing. The inner wall 11 may have an asbestos or other insulating lining 21 and the chamber is fitted with a drain cock 34 for melted ice water. The space between the walls may be evacuated and is closed at the top by a flange 14, and the device is fitted with a hinged hollow insulated lid 15.
