Magnetic separators.- In a magnetic separator a zone pole comprises a series of zones b, c, d formed of plates or rings all of one polarity, the blade angle of the zones &c. increasing from zone to zone in the direction of the outlet of material. A flat pole a is arranged as shown, so that the distance between the pole and the zones b &c. decreases progressively with the increase in the blade angle of the zones.
