Kinematograph apparatus.-Spool bores are detachably connected to the casing of the apparatus; the gate carries pressure rollers for the upper and lower sprockets and a pressure plate for the middle sprocket, and is detachably secured in place. As shown in Fig. 2, the spool boxes 24, 25 have tubular connecting portions provided with flange members 28, 29 which engage over the edges of the casing 1 of the apparatus and of a removable cover 26<1> therefor so as to form light-tight joints. In a modification, Fig. 5, the spool box 36 is provided with a portion 32 engaging in a frame 33 and secured by hand operated bolts. The removable gate 8 has pins entering recesses in a frame 20 and is secured, by pivoted pawls 21 passing through slots formed in it. Spring-pressed rollers 6, 7 are carried by the gate to engage the sprockets 3, 4 respectively, and a spring-pressed plate 14 is also carried by the gate to engage the sprocket 5.
