Abstract

236,164. Siemens & Halske Akt.-Ges. June 25, 1924, [Convention date]. R÷ntgen-ray apparatus.-In a plate holder for radiography, an aircushion is provided to press the intensifying foils into contact with the sensitive surface. The holder may have a hinged cover 5, Fig. 1, between which and a black paper case 3, enclosing the sensitive plate or film 1 and intensifying foils 2, is placed a rubber air-cushion 6 connected through an inlet 7 to an air-compressor 9. The cover may be dispensed with, and the weight of the object to be radiographed be relied upon to produce the necessary pressure of the cushion upon the case 3. In this construction light may be excluded either by flaps of black paper secured to the edges of the plate or film holder, or by a stiff paper backing secured to the lower surface of the cushion.
