Abstract

235,763. Gibson, H. W., Ward, O., and Gibson, W. Oct. 2, 1924. Roll holders.-A container for rolls of paper, e.g. wax paper, wrapping paper or paper towelling comprises a stand 25 carrying a sheet metal &c. tuba 1 closed at one end by a removable dished cap 10 with a hemispherical extension 13 engaging in a longitudinal bore 26 of the roll 6, and at the other end by a similar fixed cap. The tube 1 has one edge strip 22 arranged to overlap the other, leaving a space 21 through which the paper can be led, the strip 22 pressing elastically on the paper, and providing an edge against which the paper can be torn when the required length has been withdrawn. An aperture 24 is provided for manipulating the paper to cause a sufficiently wide strip to protrude for it to be grasped.
