Abstract

235,335. Hoe & Co., Ltd., R., (Hoe & Co., R.). April 2, 1924. Auxiliary belts.-Mechanism for forwarding and delivering printed products from a plurality of folders of a printing machine to a distant point such as the mailing room comprises closely associated superposed sets of tapes, wires &c. moving in the same general direction from each folder to the distant point. The simultaneously forwarded products may be delivered altogether or the products of each folder may be separated at the distant point and a, final delivery provided for each set of products. The first product from the folder 2 and fly 8<1> is deposited on tapes 11 which carry it forward under tapes 12, 13 running round the roller 27, so that from this roller the first product is controlled by the tapes 11 below it and the tapes 12, 13 above it. The second product from folder 1 and fly 8 is deposited on the tapes 12, 13 and is carried forward under tapes 9 running round the roller 14, the second product being controlled from this roller by the tapes 12, 13 below it and the tapes 9 above it. The two superposed tape runs proceed to the mailing room, where they are divided at the roller 16, the tapes 11 proceeding alone to deliver the first product separately, and the tapes 12, 13 and 9 passing to the roller 17 for delivery of the second product by means of delivery tapes 10 running over rollers 17, 21. The lowermost tapes 11 pass round the rollers 22, 23, 15, 16, 24, 25, 26, the portion between the rollers 16 and 24 acting for final delivery of the first product. The outer intermediate tapes 12 travel from under the roller 27, over the rollers 15, 16, 17, and are then carried laterally, as shown in Fig. 5, over pulleys 28, 29, and thence by other pulleys 30 - - 37 to. the roller 27. The inner intermediate tapes 13 are carried under the roller 27, over the rollers 15, 16, 17, and thence over the pulleys 38 - - 47 to the roller 27. The tapes 9 pass over the rollers 14 - - 20.
