Spring shackles.-In rail or road vehicles, particularly four-wheeled. trucks or tramcars, in which pitching movements of the body are counteracted by an arrangement of levers and springs, a double armed laminated spring c. c<1> pivoted towards the end of the under frame or truck side a has one arm c bearing against the sole-bar f of the body, the other arm c<1> being pivoted to a cup d supporting a coil spring e which bears against a cup g fixed to the bar f. In a modification, the coil spring bears against a cup pivoted beneath the truck side a and is suspended from the arm c<1> by links. The coil spring is sufficiently strong to require greater force to compress it than to impose normal running flexure on the arms c, c<1>.
