Abstract

234,662. Dehn, F. B., (Budd Manufacturing Co., E. G.). July 17, 1924. Dies.-A device for use in the manufacture of mating dies for stamping-machines has fixed and movable holders for the dies which enable those to be brought together to test the fit after each cutting operation. A base 6 and a sliding head 11 are provided with T-slots 32, 33 for securing the dies, the head being moved by one or two non-rotary screws 15 and nuts 18, formed externally as gears 19 and engaged by gears on a shaft 42 driven by a motor 22 through a belt 23. The motor may be vertically adjustable by a screw to tension the belt and a hand brake may be provided.
