Abstract

234,545. Clifton, W. E., and Clifton- Ewart Construction Co., Ltd. Feb. 26, 1924. Moulds; processes.-Concrete, plaster, &c. members of angular cross-section are moulded one upon another, utilizing a previously-formed member as a mould base for a succeeding member. A mould frame is employed comprising two angular members 11, Fig. 1, spaced apart and connected at the outer extremities by side members 12 and with an outer cover 13 extending completely over one limb. The frame is associated with a master mould 10 consisting of a hollow or solid block on which the first concrete &c. member is moulded. The frame is of light metal and flexible to enable it to be removed from a moulded member. Fig. 2 shows a modification in which the member 12 at the lower edge of the mould frame is omitted, the mould being closed by members 15, 16, the frame being removable vertically. In a further modification, a pair of frames, each associated with a master mould, is employed, arranged with adjacent vertical sides, a removable thin steel partition separating the two mould spaces and replacing the covers 13; after a pair of members have been moulded, the partition is withdrawn and the moulds &c. separated for readjustment of the mould frames. Adhesion between successive members is prevented by a layer of paper &c.
