234,288. Dawson, D. June 10, 1924. Incrustation, removing. - An evaporator A heated by steam coils K is fit,ted with cocks J, H, D to facilitate removal of the scale from the coils. The evaporator is emptied through the outlet cock I and is filled with sea-water through the cock J. Steam is then cut off from the coils. The evaporator is again emptied by opening the cock I and the air cock D. Steam is passed through the coils and the sudden heating breaks off the scale, which is washed out by a stream of sea-water passing from the cock J to the outlet cock I.
