Abstract

Artificial toenails of eg plastics or precious metal are adhered to the natural nail by a water soluble adhesive. They may be decoratively surface treated eg coloured, patterned, painted, enamelled or embossed or may used as a setting for jewels or precious metals. The nails may be provided in sets of varying sizes and can be shaped to a proper fit, eg cut, filed, etched or engraved.

2340392 ARTIFICIAL TOE NAILS FOR COSMETIC PURPOSES As shown in Figure 1, a
set of artificial toe nails can be secured to the surface of natural toe nails in order to provide some cosmetic enhancement, as an alternative to coloured nail varnishes, or other directly applied treatments of a decorative nature.
The artificial toe nails could be secured by any suitable means, such as a water-soluble adhesive, so that they could easily be removed when required, for example, by soaking the feet in warm water.
The artificial toe nails can be manufactured out of any suitable material that can be cut filed, etched or engraved to suit the nail shape, and can be produced in sets of various sizes to suit diflerent sizes of feet, which would then require minimum adjustment to fit each individual toe nail.
Materials such as resins or plastics could have a range of surface treatments such as colouring, patteming, painting, enamelling or embossing to make them visually attractive, and sets can be made out of precious metals either in a natural finish or as a setting for jewels, to complement otherjewellery or ornaments of the wearer.

1 Artificial toe nails for cosmetic purposes, substantially as described herein with reference to Figure 1 of the accompanying drawing.

Claims (1)

  1. 2. Artificial toe nails as in Claim 1 which can be manufactured out of any
    suitable material that can be shaped individually to suit each toe nail, such as resins, plastics or precious metals.
    3. Artificial toe nails as in Claims 1 and 2 which can be produced in a range of sizes to suit different sizes of feet.
    4. Artificial toe nails as in Claims 1, 2 and 3 which can have a range of surface treatments, such as colouring, patterning, printing, enamelling or embossing, or be used as a setting for jewels or precious metals.
    5. Artificial toe nails as in previous Claims which can be held in position by a suitable means such as a water-soluble adhesive, so that they could be easily removed when required by soaking the feet in warm water.
