233,904. Quarton, C. F. B., and Cottingham, R. F. June 11, 1924. Refrigerators, domestic and like.-A receptacle for ice-cream, of the kind comprising spaced walls 1, 2, separated by heat insulating material 3 and a cream container 4 surrounded by freezing-mixture 5, is provided with a hollow annular lid 6 serving to close the upper open ends of the spaces for the freezing- material and insulation, and with a separate hollow flanged lid 10 for the cream container. The annular lid 6 has a depending flange 7 fitting over the outer wall, and a detachable, cover plate 9 providing access to the contained insulation. Its central opening receives the upper part of the cream container, which is provided with a flange, 15 or stop pins to prevent its removal when the inner lid is removed. The inner lid has a shoulder bearing on the annular lid, and a reduced part 12 fitting within the cream container, and the outer vessel has a base rim 16 to raise it from a support and thereby assist the insulation. A waste pipe 14 for ice-water is provided. The insulation in the walls and lids consists of material such as slagwool, cork or sawdust.
