Abstract

The Hydraulic Brake system operates by the way the front wheel rotates around the hydraulic pump (B1) Pumping fluid to the calliper (A) and back to the pump. To slow the wheel and pump you put your foot on the brake which in turn pushes brake fluid down the brake pipe (A3) to the calliper (A) moving a piston forward to reduce the flow of hydraulic fluid around the system. The back pressure slows the hydraulic pump down, which is bolted to the wheel (B5) so as to reduce the speed of the wheel. The system will eliminate pads and shoes so not to create friction.

BACKGROUND
Brake Pads and brake shoes work on friction. Brake pads and brake shoes create a lot of beat and a lot of wear and brake fade. Brake fade can cause loss of brakes. The new system will eliminate pads and shoes so not to cause loss of brakes.
OLD BRAKE SYSTEM Stagecoach - block of wood Early cars - Brake shoes Cars of today - disc brakes Cars of the future - hydraulic brake system -ITECHNICAL FEATURES The wheel and pump system (ref. B) operates by the way the front wheel rotates around the hydraulic pump (reú B1) pumping hydraulic fluid to the calliper (ref. A) through the hydraulic rubber hose (ref, A1) then from the calliper back to the pump (ref. B1) through the other hydraulic rubber hose (ref. A1) making a full circuit.
To slow the wheel and pump (ref. B) you put your foot on the brake which in turn pushes brake fluid from the master cylinder down the brake pipe (ref. A3) to the calliper (ref. A) which in turn sends brake fluid into the calliper pushing the piston (ref. A2) forward so to reduce the flow around the hydraulic fluid system (ref. A1) which will slow the pump down (ref.Bl) in turn will slow the wheel.
So to stop the wheel (B5) the foot brake is to he pressed full on so that the brake fluid pushes the piston (ref. A2) right across the calliper (reú A) as on page 215 so to stop the hydraulic fluid making a full circuit.
COOLING THE HYDRAULIC FLUID &Muse of the high pressure in the system some heat will be in pump, the cooling vents (ref. B2) will help cool the pump down as it rotates at the same speed as the pump (ref. B1).
