Abstract

A dispenser for soft butter and the like comprises an exterior sleeve (20), and an interior sleeve (12) arranged coaxially within the exterior sleeve and forming a discharge chamber (24) from which butter can be dispensed by means of an axially slidable plunger (26). A nut ring (16) is positioned between the two sleeves, being in screw-threaded engagement with the exterior of the interior sleeve. The ring is coupled to the exterior sleeve for rotation therewith relative to the interior sleeve, whereby to drive the nut ring axially along the interior sleeve. Lugs (28) extend from the plunger through slots (14) in the interior sleeve into supportive engagement with the nut ring (16) for axial movement of the plunger with the nut ring.
