Coking processes.-Fuel briquettes obtained by blending and briquetting coal to obtain a product of uniform size and density, and free from tendency to soften or swell, are carbonized in a continuous vertical retort working at high temperature. Pitch may be used as a binder, and recovered for re-use from the volatiles given off during the process.
