Abstract

233,117. Kay, T. April 10, 1924. Dust, confining and expelling on generation. -An adjustable dustextracting hood for emery wheels, polishing spindles &c. is carried bv a tubular bracket connected by a tube with a slotted tube fitting into a head leading to a pipe communicating with the air off-take pipe. As shown, a hood 4 is carried by a bracket 5 to which tube 15 is attached. This tube fits into a slotted tube 6 to which it is adjustably secured by a band &c. The tube 6 passes through a head 17 secured to the upper end of a tube 18 telescoping in a pipe 10 leading to the extractor tank. The further end of tube 6 is closed and adjustably attached to an arm 7 mounted on a bearing carried by an arm 12. The spindle 8 of the emery wheel &c. 9 passes revolubly through the bearing. Within the head, the tube 6 is slotted for the passage of the dust.
