Reel and non-endless web apparatus; sheets, travelling.-A display apparatus comprises a number of sheets 1 attached together along one edge 2, from which they radiate, and secured at the outer edge each to a roller 3. Two sheets 1 are simultaneously viewed through a window 4, till a pair of endless continuously moving chains 10 raise the front freely - hanging roller 3, which winds up its sheet 1 till it reaches the level 2 and then unwinds to reveal the rear side of the sheet at the upper half of the window 4, the next roller 3 automatically taking its place at the bottom with its sheet in exposed position. The rollers are raised through the medium of pins 11 on the chains 10 engaging loose rings 9 on the roller ends, and the winding- up rotation of the rollers is effected by racks 15 which engage pinions fixed to the ends of the rollers. The rising roller is guided in side grooves between walls 17 and side supports 6, and is carried by the pins 11 past spring-pressed abutments 5 to the position shown at 16 in broken lines. The pins 11 here leave the roller, which falls back on to the abutments 5. Two rollers 3 lie in hollows at the top of the supports 6, and the rear one is pushed over by an oncoming roller to the position 18, from which it drops by gravity down the rear slope of the supports 6, its fall being retarded by a hanging pair of rods 19 furnished with springs 21 which bear against stops 22.
