Abstract

A brake warning light inspector includes two fully extendable/retractable tubes 14 and 18, and height adjuster 12 which secures at any height between steering wheel 22 and brake pedal 20 as shown in Fig 3. The Inspector includes a hook to secure to steering wheel 10 and a base to sit on brake pedal 16.

Description

BRAKE WARNING LIGHT INSPECTOR This invention relates to a Brake Warning Light Inspector.
Until now there has not been a product to test for operative/inoperative brake lights unless two people were involved: one to press the brake pedal, one to check the lights.
A Brake Warning Light Inspector, however, allows one person to check if brake warning lights are operative/inoperative.
According to the present invention there is provided a Brake Warning Light Inspector consisting of a telescopic like two piece tubular construction, (outer tube and inner tube), steering wheel hook, plus height adjuster and base, placed between brake pedal and steering wheel and extendible to suit all vehicles. Mainly aimed at H.G.V. vehicles but fits all motor vehicles this invention is ideal for testing for operative/inoperative brake warning lights by one person alone.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 Shows the Brake Light Inspector fully retracted.
Figure 2 Shows the Brake Light Inspector fully extended.
Figure 3 Shows the Brake Light Inspector in use.
Referring to the drawing Fig.2 the Inspector comprises of an outer tube 14 and an inner tube 18, also a flexible hook 10 and height adjuster 12 plus a base 16.
In order to test for operative/inoperative brake warning lights as shown in Fig. 3 place hook 10 on steering wheel 22, loosen screw on height adjuster 12 and pull down on outer tube 14 until base 16 engages brake pedal 20 into operating position. Tighten screw on height adjuster 12. You are now free to check for operative/inoperative brake warning lights.
To release Brake Warning Light Inspector the steps above are carried out in the reverse sequence.
