Abstract

230,611. McHardy, M. C. Feb. 19, 1924. Bows, buckles, and the like, attaching.- A detachable ornament adapted to be secured to a shoe by the ordinary lacing or strap fastening comprises a piece of leather or like material cut to any desired outline or pattern and provided with eyelet holes B<2>, B<3> for attachment by the shoe lace, and with slits B<4> for the passage, of a shoe strap. The material is cut along the lines XY to form two tongues B, B<b> and the tongue Bb is further cut to form projections B'. The tongues B. Bb may be folded behind the ornament and the projections B<1> passed through one of the holes B<2>, securing the tongues together and forming a loop through which a shoe strap may be passed. The tongue B may be secured inside the heel of the shoe and the tongue B<b> folded back to form a loop through which beads or the like may be hung, and the ornaments may be decorated as desired. The tongues may be extended beyond the periphery of the ornaments or may be enclosed within it. The Provisional Specification describes constructions of ornaments formed without the tongues.
