Abstract
A hand held heat gun that runs off an electrical current supply of 12 volts, the 12 volts being supplied by a motor vehicle's 12 volt battery, it has a single barrelled pin plug 5 which allows it to be plugged into the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. The heat gun has various types of interchangeable nozzles which enables it to be used for various purposes, such as, de-icing, de-frosting, hair drying, and the likes. The nozzle 14 shown here in fig 1, is attached to the end of the main chamber 8. <IMAGE>
Description
HAND HELD HEAT GUN
This invention relates to a hand held heat gun.
Hand held heat guns are well known electrical appliances.
There are various types of heat guns that are used for different purposes, there are the types that are commonly known as hair driers, and there are the types that are known as paint strippers.
These heat guns however run off an electrical voltage supply of 240 volts, and are limited to the individual uses to which they were designed for.
According to the present invention there is provided a hand held heat gun which runs off an electrical current supply of 12 volts, the 12 volts being supplied from a motor vehicles 12 volt battery, to which the heat guns single barrelled pin plug, plugs into the vehicles cigarette lighter socket. The heat gun has various types of interchangeable nozzles which enables it to be used for various purposes, such as de-icing, de-frosting, hair drying, and the drying out of things in general that may have become damp or wet.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by the way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:
Figure 1 shows in perspective, the main components of the heat gun in relation to one another.
Referring to the drawing, the hand held heat gun comprises of a single barrelled pin plug 5, which relays a 12 volt supply along a length of electrical flex 4 to the on and off switch 6, which is situated on the handle 7. The main chamber 8 which is lined with heat resistant and heat reflective material holds the electrical motor 9 which drives the fan 11. The motor being held in positition by means of the mounting bracket IO, the mounting bracket also holds in position the heating element support rails 12 which are made of a non conductive and fire resistant material. The heating element coil 13 is attached to one end of a support rail by, for example, a rivet, or means not shown, then is coiled around the support rails to the other end, where it is attached to the end of one of the support rails. In order for the heat gun to be used effectively for different purposes, it may be provided with different types of detachable nozzles.
The nozzle 14 shown in Fig 1 is attached to the main chamber 8 by, for example, a clip, slots or similar means not shown.
