Abstract

Baffles; supports for articles to be. heated.-A wire screen suitable for supporting a utensil above a gas flame comprises a piece of woven wire a of circular or polygonal shape secured along its edge or edges to metal bars b free to move relatively to one another and each of which is secured to stretching means acting at all times to exert an outward pull thereon and hold the screen flat and taut in all directions. The adjacent ends of the bars are fitted together in tongue and groove fashion. The stretching means comprises springs d, riveted together at adjacent ends e and secured at the centre to the bars b by screws c. Plates f are provided at the points e to embrace the ends of the bars b.
