Abstract

A thermostatic valve for a central heating radiator or a hot water storage vessel is provided with a heat emitting device which receives electric current under the control of a remote programmer which can be used to override the normal operation of the thermostat in the valve.

Description

DESCRIPTION PROGRAMMABLE THERMOSTATIC CENTRAL HEATING RADIATOR OR HEAT EMITTER VALVE, SUITABLE ALSO FOR HOT WATER STORAGE VESSELS.
This invention relates to a
hermostatic central heating radiator valve and thermostatic hot water temperature control valve.
Thermostatic radiator valves are well known fuel saving central heating controls which comprise a body incorporating a valve capable of opening or closing the flow of heating liquid or gas to the heat emitter, by way of a heat sensing device which is attached to the valve body or is remote but with a capillary tube connecting it to the sensing bead, which in response to a rise or fall in temperature actuates the opening or closing of the valve situated within the body. These valves come in various styles, some straight through pattern with two ports, some angled pattern with two ports, some straight pattern with three ports, some angled pattern with three ports, suitable also for thermostatic control of hot water storage vessels.
The invention is a heat emitting device, which is connected to the thermostatic valve heat sensing unit, which in turn causes the thermostatic valve to close when the remote programmer sends a electrical current to the heat emitting device, causing it to heat as instructed and consequently to cool when the remote programmer turns off the electrical supply to the heat emitting device, causing the thermostatic valve to re-open or adjust to the current area temperaturÇor hot water storage vessel temperature.

Claims (8)
