Abstract

A bite accelerator indicator for fishing has a main body structure 1 protruding from which is a piston and line clip 2 into which a fishing line is clipped. A damper assembly 8 has a fine adjustment screw to eliminate any unwanted movement of the accelerator arm indicator by wind or water. On biting fish any small amount of movement of the line will move the piston and line clip 2 causing the main driving cog 3 to pivot in-mesh with the out-put pinion 4 causing the accelerator arm indicator 7 to rise or fall rapidly in comparison with the actual amount of fishing line moved, this will enable a fisherman to make a strike earlier. The accelerator arm indicator can be set in any position, and is detachable. <IMAGE>

Description

BITE ACCELERATOR INDICATOR This invention relates to a bite accelerator indicator.
Indicators or fishing are Vell known and comprise of; swingers, springers and swing-tips, or any other form of indicator which can be fixed to a fishing rod rest or stand, for example by E, fixing bracket (not shown). These indicators only register the actual amount of line moved by biting fish..
The bite accelerator indicator will accelerate a small amount of line movement into a large amount of accelerator arm indicator movement which would enable a fisherman to make a strike earlier. The accelerator arm indicator can be set in any position as illvstrated in figure 2.
A snecific embodiment of the invention will now be discribed by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:- Figure 1 shows, in plan view the box type body of the bite accelerator indicator.
Referring to Figure 1, number 1 is the main body of the bite accelerator indicator; number 2 is the piston and line clip; number 3 is the main driving cog; number 4 is the out put pinion; number 5 is the indicator boss; number 6 are locating pins; number 7 is the accelerator arm indicator; number 8 is the damper assembly. ( number 9 represents a fishing line ).
Referring to the drawing Figure 1, the bite accelerator indicator comprises a body 1 within which is located a piston and line clip 2 which is secured to a main driving cog 3 by means of a locating pin 6, the main driving cog 3 moves in-mesh with an out-put pinion 4, the main driving cog 3 any the out-put Dinion 4 pivot on locating rinks 6, an indicator boss 5 is a fixture to the out-put pinion 4; this means that an accelerator arm indicator 7 can be detached, a canter assembly 8 has a fine adjustment feature by means of a nylon damper with a compression spring behind a fine adjustment screw.
The bite accelerator indicator can be fixed to a rod rest or to some other type of fishing rod stand.
Once the fisherman has cast out some line the fishing rod is then raced on a rod rest or stand. Once the fisherman has taken-up any slack line, the line is then placed in the piston clip 2 as shown in Figure 1. The fisherman can then adjust the cla; er aeni.ly 8 as shown in Figure 1, in order to eliminate any movement of the accelerator arm indicator 7 by line movement caused by wind or water. The bite accelerator indicator is now set.
Referring to the drawing Figure 2r On biting fish any line movement will move the piston clip 2 which will turn the main drive cog 3 which in turn will accelerate the out-put Dinion 4 causing the accelerator arm indicator 7 to rise or fall rapidly in comparison with the actual amount of line moved, thus allowing the fisherman to make a strike earlier..
