Cameras for plates and flat films ; dark slides.- An adapter for attachment to the back of a rollfilm camera, to enable plates or flat films contained in slides or holders to be exposed therein, comprises in one form a casing A, having a hinged back I and a front with a flanged exposure aperture, and having lips C' adapted to engage the film-guiding rollers B, D of the camera to secure the casing in position. The plate or flat film is inserted into a slide or holder J, which has grooves or runners for the plate &c., and also for a shutter K upon which is slidably mounted a light-trapped collar L adapted to close the slide. When the slide is placed in the adapter, a flange F' on the hinged 'back I prevents the slide from rising when the shutter K is withdrawn to expose the plate &c. A stop O on the shutt'er prevents this being fully withdrawn. Springs H in the hinged back I press the slide J against the front aperture of the adapter. In a modification, the adapter is secured to the camera by the engagement of spring clips on the adapter with the framework of the camera round the focal aperture, and in a further modification, the top and bottom flanges of the apertured front of the adapter are turned over to engage this framework, and the adapter is held in engaged position by a blade spring.
