Abstract
227,992. Tomlinsons (Rochdale), Ltd., and Maude, J. Jan. 5, 1924. Nap, raising.-Teazles are mounted non-revolubly on square or other irregular spindles which are non-rotatably mounted or adapted to be held against rotation as required, and are so arranged that when a portion of the teazle is worn, the spindle is turned to bring a fresh part of the teazle into operation. As shown in Fig. 2, teazles a are mounted on a square spindle B mounted in supports c, c<1> provided with springs H, G for engaging the ends of the spindle. The teazles are held on the spindle by end fittings F, F<1>, the fitting F having holes F<2> for engagement by a peg H<2> on the spring H<2> for holding it against rotation. The peg H<2> may be moved out of engagement with the filling F when it is desired to allow the teazle to revolve. The spindles of the teazles may be arranged at rightangles to the axis of the cylinder upon which they are mounted. The Provisional Specification also describes .the use of pivotal catches for locking the spindles on which the teazles are mounted.
